56 Years and Still Going Strong

Frank’s Swim School is the oldest privately run swimming school for children and families in North York. We’ve been teaching kids to swim for over 56 years, and we’re proud to be recognized as an educational institution by the Government of Ontario.

Our school was founded in 1968 by Frank Liebmann, and is currently operated by his son, Michael Liebmann. We’re committed to providing our students with the best possible swimming experience, and we’re an integral part of the community.

​

Our Programs 

​Your child will be transitioning from basic skills to more advanced techniques, being able to swim front crawl, back crawl, and breaststroke. Around the age of 11, swimmers usually choose between two different paths (or decide to do both of them!). One is the Lifesaving and Instructor path, which will allow them to work in aquatic facilities, while the other one will get them ready for a competitive swimming stream.

  • Beginner (2 - 8 years)
    Preschool A / Preschool B / Preschool C / Preschool D

  • Intermediate (6 - 12 years)
    Swimmer 2 / Swimmer 3 / Swimmer 4

  • Advanced (8 - 13 years)
    Swimmer 5 / Swimmer 6 / Swimmer 7 / Swimmer 8

  • Patrol Awards (11 - 13 years)
    Rookie Patrol / Ranger Patrol / Star Patrol

  • Bronze Awards (12 - 15 years)
    Bronze Star / Bronze Medallion / Bronze Cross

  • Lifeguard & Swim Instructor (15+ years)
    Must have earned a Lifesaving Society Bronze Cross award

  • Swim Team Training (Children, Youth, and Adult)
    Swimmer 6 or higher

  • Private Lessons (All ages)

Discount at our Summer Day Camp!

Frank’s Swim School clients get a discount at Human Moves Day Camp & Soccer Program. Our partner company (under same ownership as Frank’s Swim School), Human Moves, offers a variety of programs for children 4 to 14 years old, such as a Summer Camp, March Break, Soccer Program, and more!

Encouraging and Rewarding Children's Progress

We are affiliated with the Lifesaving Society and use the Lifesaving Awards and Swim Award System, the most widely used in Canada.

 

The skills required to receive a swimming award are very demanding. However, at Frank’s Swim School, we help children bridge the gap where necessary to ensure that every child gets their badge.

 

Frank’s swim badges encourage and show that the student is partway through the appropriate level.

Are You Going to Miss a Class? We Offer Make-Up Classes!

Frank’s Swim School clients can book up to 2 make-up lessons per session for a day and time slot that is available for their child, considering their target level. 

 

This applies only to our regular lessons for Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, and Patrol Awards. Special programs (Parent & Tot, Bronze Awards,  Swim Team, and National Lifeguard & Swim Instructor) don’t have a make-up policy.
