**Must have earned Swimmer 6 or higher
Recommended for students who want to increase endurance, power and fitness through a swim team coaching experience, or anytime between or after the Bronze Awards, our swim team training hones any student’s endurance and fitness to prepare to join swim teams and participate in competitions.
Each hour-long session includes a swim team-style workout that will help students perfect their strokes and develop their speed in the water, their endurance over long periods of swimming, and other skills needed to perform in swim competitions.
This accessible program is an excellent choice for any swimmer looking to perfect their swimming performance. Still, it is especially ideal for those who wish to join a water sports team and compete in competitive swimming. It will give you an excellent feel for what it’s like to be part of a team and the areas you need to work on to perform at your best.
Open to adults with or without their children enrolled, our swim team training is also perfect as a regular workout for students looking for one more way to stay active and fit.
Students must be at least swimmer level 6 to sign in for the Swim Team. Please visit our Learning Progression page to better understand what to expect from a swimmer level 6.
The swim team is a program focused on endurance and stroke technique. Students are not graded at the end of the course, and they don’t get any specific certification. Therefore, there are no specific challenging skills to pass.
The Swim Team program is offered only at the Havergal location.
The swim team isn’t part of a specific progression path. Some students enroll in this program for leisure, while others to use it as a bridge toward the Bronze Awards and/or Lifeguard and Instructor programs.
